The message above is from Luke 10:27 NIV He answered: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
Whew, is that who I really was? While I won't deny I did enjoy playing video games and watching anime, it's still just for fun and for a short time. But these days, it's hard to make room for it when there's just other more meaningful things to do. Still like them for sure. Don't think that will ever go away completely. But when I think about doing it, it's either "Do this, or do that?" And one is clearly more meaningful and beneficial than the other. And that one is for God's glory. Believing Jesus Christ as the Son of God and following Him and His teachings through the Scriptures.
Oh and even if my view on life has changed, I won't stop being yamiLuceid. Even if it stands for Dark Luceid. I never really thought anything much of it and I still don't. It's just an online username/ID/screen name/etc., and it sounds cool to me and that's that. It doesn't define my heart, to which is what God looks into. 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV) But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
Anyways, I need to redo my About Me page. Whenever that is! For now, take a look at the old 'About Me'. I bet none of it makes sense because you're not a nerd, geek, or a dork!
Old me?
Hello. My name is Gunther Kris Santos. I am known as yamiLuceid in almost everything I do online. Usernames, nicknames, ID, email, you name it. yamiLuceid means Dark Luceid. The japanese word yami (闇) obviously stands for Dark. The word Luceid came from a video game called Wild ARMs. Luceid is a Guardian but accompanies a villain in the game and is the only Guardian you cannot summon/receive. Click here for more information. Originally many years ago, I chose Luceid as my online username but, of course, it was used by many as well. After having interests in Yu-Gi-Oh! I decided to take the word "Yami" from "Yami Yugi" and add it to mine and yamiLuceid became the result. I also pronounce Luceid as if it has an acute accented e like Lucéid.
I'm a gamer in mostly RPG (General, Action, Strategy, and some MMO), and Survival Horror genres. I also play some Fighting and Racing games. The only sports game I like playing is golf. I don't mind puzzle games either.
I'm also an Otaku. I love anime, manga and visual novels with much interest in shoujo titles, romantic comedies, cute love stories, action titles with awesome animation, titles with characters having elemental powers and abilities, cute and lovable characters that aren't annoying, flashy animation, drama, fantasy with interesting story, and general slice of life.
Sometimes when I compare my character interests with others, I find that I'm with the minority or at least that's what I think. Characters I like usually aren't the ones most people like. I guess I should give some examples using the most popular titles. And then you can judge what my interests are based on the characters I've chosen.
Princess Mononoke: Ashitaka definitely. He's such a perfect main character for an awesome anime movie. Second would be San. She's very stubborn throughout the film but the end made me like her.
Spirited Away: Chihiro of course. A clumsy, spoiled little girl who grew tremendously to a strong, courageous girl. Second would be Zeniba, Yababa's twin sister and a minor character. She's very kind and there was just something about her that makes you like her so much in her short period of time in the film. Both animated films are from Hayao Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli.
Kanon: Minase Nayuki. Throughout the anime, it became clear that the choice would be either Ayu or Nayuki that Yuichi ends up with. Even though I knew it will be Ayu since she's the main heroine in the anime, I was rooting for Nayuki the whole time. Second comes Sawatari Makoto, and this one is very tragic. Third is Misaka Shiori.
Clannad: I first liked Fujibayashi Ryou but after completing the "Fujibayashi twins" route in the Visual Novel and learning what she did to her sister, she moved down a notch and Fujibayashi Kyou takes her place. I hate how she cut her hair at the end though. Third would belong to both Sunohara siblings. No matter what other people say, I do love Youhei. He's funny, and his serious side is just great. Mei for doing what she did for her brother no matter how hard it was. Sunohara siblings route is definitely my second favorite and very close to first. I don't like the other characters in Clannad as much as I do with these 4.
Ai Yori Aoshi: A great anime. Favorite character is none other than Tina Foster. Her story, in my opinion, is the best in the series and very tragic. I love her behavior too.
School Rumble: Sawachika Eri. Most probably do and for a good reason. Second is Harima Kenji. He's an awesome character. He's funny and kind when he actually shows it. And as far as I know, he always have good intentions. Third would be Tsukamoto Yakumo.
Hmm, well I've seen a lot of popular anime but when I think of them like Love Hina, Fruits Basket, etc. it's been too long which character I actually felt a strong interest/connection to. Most anime and their characters don't have as much effect on me as the ones above. I might expand this as I remember and go.
On a side note, usually romance and drama genre brings me down in tears... MANLY tears. Fujibayashi route brought me down there a few times. Clannad anime story itself, Kanon, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Air, Elfen Lied, Spirited Away, I My Me Strawberry Eggs, Aishiteruze Baby, Ai Yori Aoshi (Tina's story), ugh... I could go on forever. A lot of anime titles even movies and games has made go down in tears.
That's all for now about me. I'll update this as I feel the need to reveal more information.
